POSITIVE ID REQUIREMENTS - MINIMUM CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS - UPDATED CREDIT CARD PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS

At Apartments of Melbourne we are required to comply with Federal, State and Local Government laws. In addition, we also must meet requirements of the buildings we operate in and, our insurance policies. We have become a POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION business to overcome concerns about fraud and identity theft. Travel and accommodation is the number one industry for fraud and, 80% of all fraud occurring is ‘CARD NOT PRESENT’ OR CNP.

Fraud costs both business and individuals billions every year and, The Restassured Group and, Apartments of Melbourne are working hard to protect our customers from fraud.

CARD NOT PRESENT PAYMENTS ARE NOLONGER AVAILABLE

To prevent fraud, we now require proof of cards used for payments made to us. This proof must be by presenting that card used for the original payment. The card used, for the original accommodation payment at time of booking must be present on arrival and, the name on the card MUST be EXACTLY the same as the ID for the primary guest.

UPDATED MINIMUM CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS

You as the primary resident will:
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Present government issued photo ID such as a Passport or Driver’s License in your name
  • Present a valid Visa, MasterCard or American Express in your name and, have available funds to meet our security hold requirements, between $250 and $750 depending on apartment type
  • Both the ID and credit card must be in the same name as the booking, your name
  • Present the card used, for the original accommodation payment at time of booking, the name on the card MUST be EXACTLY the same as your ID
Unfortunately, if you cannot meet these minimum requirements our team will not be able to assist you.

NAME IS SHORTENED ON ONE OF THE ITEMS REQUIRED FOR MINIMUM CHECK IN
We understand that Christopher often becomes Chris, this is OK

NAME IS HYPHENATED
We understand that Mary Jane often becomes Mary, this is OK

MY NAME IS DIFFERENT IN ENGLISH
You will need to show us how these names connect to each other but yes, this is ok

MY CARD HAS EXPIRED – I HAVE A NEW CARD
If your new card number is the same as the old card there is no issue. If your new card number is different, please bring your old card as well. If you can’t do this, we will need to refund your old card and charge your new card.

THERE ARE FOUR OF US STAYING, THE CARD IS IN THE NAME OF ANOTHER OCCUPANT
Your stay is bound by a contract or agreement. By nature, that agreement can be only between two parties, the primary guest and yourself. The primary guest is the person whose name is on the booking and is the payer. There can be only one primary guest.

MY PARTNER PAID FOR OUR ACCOMMODATION, CAN I BRING THEIR CREDIT CARD WITH ME?
Unfortunately, NO, the primary guest must be the card holder and must be present to meet our minimum check-in requirements

I HAVE A NEW CARD, WHAT CAN I DO?
Please bring your old card in your name with you. If not, please contact us and we will refund your original card and then charge your new card

I BOOKED THROUGH EXPEDIA, WOTIF, HOTELS.COM OR AGODA
You are not required to present your original card to us, these companies collected the payment from you and, we charge their cards in turn so, we do not have a direct financial relationship

I NEED TO PAY FOR MY TEAM MEMBER TO STAY
We offer bank transfer payment options, please contact our Booking Concierge for more information. Alternatively talk with our Booking Concierge about our corporate credit card authority documents

EXCEPTIONS
Bookings made 90 days or more prior to the day of check in are exempted from the policy. Card used for payment i.e. Company card, family/relative's card will not be checked upon arrival and can proceed with check in procedures.
